Vlad Abacus While I'd like to paint myself as an original Melvins hipster from the 80's, this was the first "new" album the band made after I discovered them. This record is a brutal trifecta of savage rock, performance art and experimental poetry all at the same time. In short, this record is an essential selection for #psychickarate dojo antics. Favorite track: Foaming.

A.K. Pearson The Melvins adopt a more "normal" approach to songwriting, with pentatonic chord progressions and a great deal of harmonized King Buzzo vocals. Not very consistent and sonically two-dimensional, like "Doc At the Radar Station" with even fewer ideas. Favorite track: The Fool, The Meddling Idiot.
